Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd June
Mid week break
The walks can be done as a 2 day break with overnight stay, or as 2 separate
day walks. Accommodation is available at the Hark to Bounty, Slaidburn
telephone 01200446246, or the YHA in Slaidburn telephone 08000191700.
The Hark to Bounty has a fine reputation for evening meals and has traditionally
made the Rochdale Ramblers extremely welcome.
The YHA has a well equipped kitchen for self caterers.
There is also a campsite nearby in the village of Newton.
Stocks Reservoir and its Environs. Meet 11am Slaidburn village green opposite the car park.
A fine, scenic, lengthy walk of 11 miles but not over demanding.
Whitendale. Meet 10.30am Dunsop Bridge village green opposite the car park.
A rather more demanding walk than Wednesdays (10 miles) and if visibility is
good we should be rewarded with some classic Bowland Panoramas
